Sterling Silver Pin with Moss Agate Stone
Circa 1920 - 1930
Measures 1'' x 1'' approximately.
A gorgeous square slice of moss agate set in a fancy patterned sterling bezel. This naturally occurring stone has a beautiful dendrite pattern that resembles a tree line. Sometimes these stones are called picture agate, tree agate, and are also called Mocha Stone when found with this brown coloring. It was cleverly constructed so that the darkest part of the pattern conceals the bar pin in the back as the stone is open back set to allow the light in from all sides. A very delicate and simple pin, in great condition.
Unmarked, but is certainly sterling silver and typical of settings from the 20s and 30s.
